Lunar Bloom
August 14, 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm EDT

Lunar Bloom is a Toronto-based, all-female indie-folk trio with voices that weave seamlessly from unison to harmony.
The three ‘blooms’ are long time friends, and have been collaborating together as music makers for 2 years. Pulling inspiration from other artists, they create a sound that has the quirkiness of Regina Spektor, the sweet innocence of Dala, and the witchy appeal of Florence and the Machine. Their music features dynamic range and honest story telling.
The members of the band are:
Jocelyn Regina: Jocelyn’s first love was singing and her second was piano. She started training classically at an early age, forayed into jazz and pop in highschool, and started writing her own music at 17 (after first heartbreak with a third love who shall remain nameless). Jocelyn studied Musical Theatre at Sheridan College where she continued to develop her own writing and started singing with special friends Kelly & Brittany. She then moved to Glasgow to get an MA in Theatre at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (where she met her lifetime love who is now referred to as “husband”). After living in the UK for a few years, and working as a photographer/still life fashion stylist, she moved back home to Canada. Her favourite welcome home message read “Hey Beauty, So when you get to Toronto…do you wanna start a band?”
Brittany Robinson: Brittany came to music late in life and it has been a constant ever since. Using songwriting as a place to put all her teen angst in high school, her feelings developed into a more mature angst and continues to use music to express matters of her heart. Some of her travel journies include living in Australia for a year, back packing in New Zealand and most recently traipsing around Newfoundland. In addition to making music with two of her closest lady friends, Brittany has a lot of projects on the go including a web series she created about street harassment. When not creating she is avidly reading as many fiction/distopian/sci-fi novels she can carry from the library and finding places in her apartment for all her old lady knick knacks.
Kelly McNamee: Comes by her musically talent honestly. Growing up in a house where you were tripping over guitars and the kids were telling the parents to keep it down during their weekly band practices. She began her formal training as a young adult studying at Sheridan College for Musical Theatre. That is where she would meet her current bandmates and learn to harness her voice and song writing skills. After school, she continued to write on her own and alongside her now husband. Together they started her first musical project NOON TO NOON. Eventually that project came to a close but she still longed to be a part of a group. This time with infinite harmonies and a feminine edge. She reached out to Jocelyn & Brittany and Lunar Bloom was born.
