Location Encoder

This page retrieves information about your Internet connection and location to help determine the best location for a syncspace so that you can perform with other musicians with the lowest possible network latency for everyone.

Location Code

Your location code is comprised of two components:

1. IP Address

Your IP address is assigned to your Internet modem by your Internet service provider. The address typically changes from time to time. We are only interested in the address to understand your Internet routing to our servers.

2. Location

We need your location strictly for the purpose of improving service for you. After determining your location through this page, we reduce the precision of the coordinates to protect your privacy. You will see this on the map where the marker will not precisely match the queried or supplied location. Feel free to read our privacy policy.

There are two ways this page can obtain your location:

Geolocation

The page will query your browser for your location. This operation will fail if your browser or operating system are not set to allow location sharing or if you don't allow location sharing if prompted by the browser. If geolocating fails, you can enter a street address and try geocoding.
